Vijayapura: After the State government giving clear indication that it would be lifting lockdown in the phased manner, mainly giving higher relief to the districts that have 5% and below Covid positivity rate, the District Administration is hopeful of achieving that target before June 14 when the lockdown is expected to be lifted.
As on June 6, according to Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) the Corona positivity rate of the district is 8.32% while the previous day it was 9.14%.
“We have taken up several steps to bring down the positivity rate in the district. Among them, the best is the door-to-door survey which is helping us in early identification of infected persons”, said Deputy Commissioner P. Sunil Kumar.
He said that the door-to-door survey is extensively conducted in rural areas to identify the infected persons based on their symptoms.
“The early identification helps us in isolating the infected person from non-infected person. This eventually prevents the spread of the virus. Another best benefit of is that, we could start treating the infected person at the early stage which prevents the persons for going to critical position or death”, he said.
He said that since about a week is left for possible lifting of the lockdown in the State, their efforts would yield result and positivity rate would be brought to 5%.
Expressing happiness that the number of positive cases is also coming down, he said that it is an indication that their all efforts, mainly door to door survey is working out well.
