Vijayapura: A woman was reportedly striped and beaten up in Vijayapura for supporting a murder accused.

The incident took place in Bandala village of Sindagi taluk where a former Congress party worker named Sujatha Sinde (45) became target of the angry mob.

It is said that Srikantha Beeragonda, a 37-year-old bus driver was found murdered on a bridge in Budihala village on Saturday after he went missing for couple of days. Srikantha’s family members leveled allegations against Renuka, with whom Srikantha is said to have had an illicit relationship. However, Sujatha Sinde came in support of Renuka, which raged the locals to the extent that they disrobed her and assaulted her mercilessly.

While Renuka has been taken into custody by the police in connection to the murder case, Sujatha has gone missing after the disgraceful incident without even lodging a complaint.
