Vijayapura: Discrediting the influence of Activist Kodihalli Chandrashekhar and claiming that he has lost faith among the staff of KSRTC, Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister, Laxman Savadi has said that no staff of KSRTC will support Kodihalli if he again calls for a strike.

Addressing presspersons during his private visit here, he said that the staff of KSRTC no longer trusts Kodihalli.

It may be noted that Kodihalli was leading the agitation called by KSRTC staff a couple of months ago demanding higher salary and other benefits.

“Kodihalli is an activist and the intentions behind his participation in the agitation has been revealed. The employees of KSRTC will no longer support his voice. It is the state government that gave drivers and conductors their monthly wages even in the lockdown. Moreover, people will also not support any kind of agitation in this pandemic ”,  Savadi said.

Commenting on the State leadership, Savadi said that, Chief Minister’s chair is not vacant and B S Yediyurappa will be the CM for the remaining tenure. The party will also fight the next assembly polls under his leadership. After the polls, it is the decision of the party high command on appointing the next leader to the state

With regard to the pending salaries of KSRTC staff, the Minister said that the payment will be paid in two installments from July 10.

Making it clear that he is not in the race for the post of CM, Savadi said that he did not knock doors on the leader of the Ministry.

He said he will abide by the decision of the party high command and will work on strengthening the party in the state.

When questioned about the ongoing tussle between Mandya MP Sumalatha and former CM H D Kumaraswamy over KRS Dam, DCM Savadi said that the officials and engineers concerned have given a report to the state government that there is no damage found in the KRS dam.

“ However the war of words between both the elected members is only giving free entertainment to the people of the state. We don’t have time to watch this entertainment. We will also take necessary actions on constituting the statue of late actor-cum-politician H. M. Ambarish”, Savadi said.
