Health dept officials picks elderly for tests, drops him on roadside in Bidar

Bidar: In an unfortunate incident, an elderly, who was taken away from home quarantine by the health officials for medical tests was reportedly abandoned on middle of streets, in Bidar.

Many have criticised the health officials for their inhuman behaviour and have demanded action against the guilty.

A resident of Old City, the elderly was on home quarantine.

He was picked by the health officials in an ambulance on Sunday evening and was taken to district hospital.

However, after collecting his throat swab and blood sample, the health officials did not drop him back home, instead he was abandoned half way through, at Gavan Chowk.

With lockdown in place, the elderly was seen sitting at the junction helplessly.

When the jurisdiction police spotted the old man, they collected details about his family members and then informed the family members to come over and pick him.
