Bhatkal: A man and his seven-year-old daughter met their tragic end in an accident on Riyadh-Jeddah route in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.
The father-daughter duo identified as Fayaz Gawai (45) and Fiza (7) hailed from Bhatkal. Five others were injured in the accident.
It is learnt that on Saturday evening, families of Fayaz Gawai and Yasir Manna, both hailing from Bhatkal left from Jubail to Mecca to perform Umrah. When they reached Dhalam, a speeding car driven by an Arab rammed into the Fortuner in which they were all travelling, killing Fayaz and Fiza on the spot.
Fayaz’s wife Faiza and their two sons and Yasir Manna along with another person sustained injuries. Yasir Manna, who was driving the vehicle, is said to be serious.
The injured have been admitted to Taif hospital.
Both the families are residents of Madina Colony in Bhatkal.
