Bhatkal: Two days after the reports of death news of Mohammed Shafi Armar, a notorious Islamic State (IS) recruiter, hailing from Bhatkal, Karnataka, surfaced, the latter’s younger brother has asked the Home Minister Rajnath Singh to confirm the death of his brother and asked for a proof.

Safwan Armar, the younger brother of the ISIS recruiter has asked for proof that his brother is dead. Shafi Armar was reportedly killed in a drone attack in Syria recently.

Safwan and his mother who are living in Bhatkal have no information about the death of Shafi, or the eldest brother, Sulthan, who was similarly a powerhouse in ISIS and was reportedly killed last year.

“News of Shafi’s death may not be true. If it is true then I request the Home Minister Rajnath Singh to give us his body or confirm his death,” he told sources.

Armar had started his terror career with Indian Mujahiddeen, when he was recruited along with his brother Sultan Armar by Riyaz Bhatkal in 2008.

In fact, IS chief Abu-Bakr-Al-Bhagdadi in a video message had declared Sultan Armar as an Amir (leader) of AuT. He was killed on March 6, 2015 in an air strike in Kobane, Syria.
