Ballari: Health and family welfare minister B Sreeramulu has made it clear that he will abide by the Chief Minister’s decision to divide the iron ore-rich Ballari district, however, the Reddy brothers have warned that they will resign if they go through with the decision.
Just like in 2008, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa continues to face a threat from the Reddy brothers.
Two MLAs from the Reddy family, Gali Somashekar Reddy and Gali Karunakara Reddy, who have called several senior party leaders in Bengaluru, made it clear that if the Ballari district is divided, both of them will quit their post as MLA and also resign from the party.
“This comes as a big jolt to the party. If they resign with two other BJP MLAs who are against the division of the district, the government will collapse. On the other hand, Anand Singh is influencing the decision of dividing the district through the party’s high command,” said a BJP leader.
