Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh releases Rs. 10 crore towards Hampi tourism

Ballari: Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh said that he has already sanctioned Rs. 10 crores towards the tourism development of Hampi, here on Monday, March 5 evening.

Speaking on the ‘Basavanna’ stage of ‘Hampi Utsav – 2019’ he said that in order to boost up the development projects Rs. 10 crores was sanctioned by the coalition government and that events like this shall be extended to four to five days.

Member of Parliament from the Congress party V S Ugrappa said that it was very essential to preserve the heritage of the city by introducing the sculptors and the skills of artisans to the world.

He said, “It is necessary to have extensive research done on the monuments and sculptors that are found in this heritage city and such programmes should be utilized as a platform to have a discussion on the research made”.

Meanwhile, Ugrappa said that he would make a sincere effort for optimum utilization of the Tungabhadra Dam water, which will help and benefit the farmers of this region to yield maximum crops.

Speaking about the Hampi Utsav he said, “Such events shall not be restricted for a day or two, but celebrated across the year”.

Later, Sa Ra Mahesh said that already Rs. 10 crore has been sanctioned towards the development of tourism and that it was the duty of the deputy commissioner to implement and channelize it in the right direction.
