Ballari: Claiming that the flood-hit regions of the country are not receiving any attention and response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader V S Ugrappa said that the economy of the country stands destroyed because of Modi, who is busy touring foreign countries.
Addressing the reporters here, Ugrappa, who called both the PM and Home Amit Shah as the ‘ones who love luxury’, said that the PM must stop his foreign tours and focus on the betterment of the country.
“First time in the history of India, Rs 1.73 cr dividend amount from the Reserve Bank of India has been taken by the Centre. Business set up, both large scales to micro industries are facing the heat. Cottage industries are suffering and only the economic policies of the centre are responsible for the same.,” he said adding, “The meltdowns were faced even in the past-when PV Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh were the Prime Ministers, the entire world faced economic crisis, but India remained untouched by the same. This time, it is Modi’s faulty economic policies that are driving the Indian economy towards the end,” he said.
Attacking the BJP leaders, Ugrappa said that the state BJP leaders are scared to even open their mouths in front of the PM. “Why is the CM not telling the centre that flood in the state is a calamity. Why are you not opening your mouth about the amount required for relief works? If you fear the PM, we will speak to him directly,” he said adding that there is an immediate need for Rs 5,000 cr to rebuild the flood-battered regions of the state.
He informed that the state suffered a loss of Rs 1 lakh crore, but the Centre has released only Rs 203 cr.
