Kampli: In a big embarrassment to the Congress candidate from the Ballari Lok Sabha constituency, incumbent MP V S Ugrappa, supporters of Kampli MLA J N Ganesh, blocked him at Kampli on Sunday, Match 31 evening.
Ugrappa was in Kampli to seek votes for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. But Ganesh’s supporters didn’t allow him to campaign, asked how anyone could seek votes in the name of their leader who was suspended from the party and put in jail.
Ugrappa tried to pacify them by stating that the party leaders will take a decision in this regard soon. “The issue is in the court and sub judice. But definitely, I will pass on your message to the party leaders,” he said.
Ganesh’s supporters, however, stated that they will not support or campaign for the Congress until their leader’s suspension order is revoked.
MLA J N Ganesh, is currently in a Bengaluru prison for assaulting Vijayanagara (Hospet) MLA Anand Singh at a resort in Bidadi.
