Ballari: Highlighting the four pillars of democracy, former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde called on the youth to orient themselves with values such as honesty and justice.
He was addressing the youth at the third day of the ‘Yuvajanothsava’ youth convention held at Ballari on Saturday, October 26. Justice Hegde further appealed to youngsters to be content with what they have been blessed with and asked them to be human, above all other things. He said, “When the democracy is of the people, by the people, and for the people then we should work for the betterment of society without falling prey to unlawful activities.”
“Only then will our Indian Constitution continue to function. The Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary are bastions of democracy. ” he added.
The former Supreme Court judge further shared his experiences about justice and the protection of human rights.
Afterwards, several young participants had an opportunity to ask Justice Hegde questions ranging from committed leaders to anti-corruption.
Earlier, Bishop Henry D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Pradeep delivered the vote of thanks.
