Belagavi: The “weeping” idol of Goddess Dyamavva at Halaki village in Saudatti taluk has created a euphoria with hundreds of devotees thronging the place. A video of tears pouring out of the deity’s eye has gone viral on social media.

This apparent phenomenon was discovered by the priest who had been to the temple in the morning. In the course of the Pooja, he found that water is pouring from the right eye of the goddess’ stone idol.

Soon the news spread like wide fire and villagers started pouring into the temple to witness this “miracle.” The weeping idol was recorded by a devotee on the mobile phone and shared on WhatsApp. Later, the incident, reported for the first time, also started drawing crowds from the neighbouring places. Now, apprehensions are agog about bad times ahead. However, until now no has taken the initiative to research on the source of water coming from the idol.
