Belagavi: A youth attempting to get his selfie taken with state energy minister DK Shivakumar was smacked by the latter, terming it an uncalled for act on the part of the youth.
The incident took place on November 20 when the minister was addressing a child right’s event at a college in Belagavi and was caught on camera smacking the youth. In the video the youth can be seen holding a phone above his head to click a selfie with Shivakumar while he was addressing media persons here.
A visibly irritated minister is then seen turning around and hitting the youth’s hand causing his phone to fall.
“Have basic common sense. When I’m fulfilling my responsibility and addressing the press how can someone come out for a selfie? It was a normal incident,” he was quoted as telling ANI.
