SSLC board exams will not be postponed: Suresh Kumar

Belagavi: State primary and secondary education minister Suresh Kumar has assured that the SSLC board exams will not be postponed.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, October 23, he said, “I know that the state is facing worst flood situations because of which the academic process has also been affected with schools and colleges remaining shut. Although the classrooms have been damaged, the classroom activities have been relocated.”

“When I asked the teachers if there were any issues in the process of completing portions and whether or not to postpone the exams, they have told me that it was not necessary as the process of completing the portions on time was underway”, he added.

Related to reconstruction and repair of classrooms, the minister said, “Around Rs 534 crores is needed to reconstruct and repair the classrooms, which were affected by floods. Rs 164 crores is needed to begin the repair work. The government has already sanctioned Rs 500 crore and has directed to give importance towards the Anganwadi and construction of government hospitals.”

Meanwhile, he said that the class seven students would be facing the board exams, this year. He said that it was implemented to help students experience board exams.
