Belagavi: The Chief Minister lashed out at Congress senior leader B Janardhan Poojary for his statements against the former and said that the people of Karnataka and the central party leaders chose him for the top post.
Earlier, Poojary had publicly criticised Siddaramaiah and said that he was able to make it to the top post because the then Chief Minister and BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa was booked by Lokayukta in illegal mining scam.
Reacting to Poojary’s statements, Siddaramaiah who was in Belagavi for reviewing drought-relief measures said that none in the state could attribute their rise to the top post to a role by the Lokayukta.
The CM also rejected Poojary’s claim that formation of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) was an attempt to weaken the Lokayukta.
Siddaramaiah came down heavily on the erring officials, said that they would be held accountable for any lapse in the drought-relief measures undertaken by the State government.
He also informed that Maharashtra has released one TMC feet of water to the river Krishna and the government will ensure it will be utilised for the needs of the public.
