Belagavi: The furious followers of MLA Satish Jarkiholi went on a rampage in the city and ransacked the Congress office at Club Road. They were agitating against the party’s decision to not include their leader in the recently formed cabinet of the coalition government in the state.
In another incident, stones were pelted at the NWKRTC bus, damaging the windows of the bus near CBT. The police resorted to mild force and dispersed the crowd.
Earlier in the day, disgruntled supporters of Satish Jarkiholi under the leadership of Manava Bhahutva Vedike staged a protest at the Rani Chennamma Circle. From here they marched towards the Congress office at Club Road. The situation, however, turned ugly at the office as the protestors ransacked the party office, sources said. The mob allegedly damaged the furniture, pots, and glasses at the office and tore down Congress party banners.
