Belagavi: Condemning the move of the bifurcating the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) from the district by the state government, several pro Kannada organizations protested here on Sunday, February 10.
Pro Kannada organization leaders Siddanagouda Patil and Ashok Chandaragi said that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Public Works Department Minister H D Revanna were trying to loot all the vital resources from the district and were doing injustice to the people.
They have warned of conducting a mega protest as well as ‘Belagavi Bandh’ if they continue to do so.
Protestors-educationalists and pro Kannada organization activists created a human chain near the Chennamma circle and said that they were ready to lay down their lives but would never support the bifurcation move.
The commoners too have joined the protest and expressed their opinion against the state government move.
