Belagavi: A newborn baby died in a hospital here due to non-availability of treatment following the ongoing strike by private doctors against the controversial National Medical Commission Bill introduced by the union government.
The newborn baby’s father Basappa, alleged that the baby developed respiratory problem right after birth in a hospital in Gokak. The condition of the baby was critical and hence, the ailing baby was shifted to a private hospital in Belagavi for advanced medical care. However, as duty doctors were on strike, the baby did not get immediate treatment at the hospital and it died.
