Belagavi: Refuting claim that the rebel MLAs were bought by the BJP for Rs 25 cr each, BJP Leader Basangoud Patil Yatnal has said that it is not even possible to purchase a Zilla Panchayat member with Rs 25 cr.

In a rather disgraceful statement, Yatnal said: “The government has sanctioned Rs 500 cr for the development of my constituency. If I get a commission of 10 percent, even then I will make Rs 50 cr. Why would the MLAs sell themselves for Rs 25 cr.” He further urged the people of Kagwad constituency to cast their votes in favour of Srimanth Patil of the BJP so as to witness overall development of the constituency.
Shrimanth Patil, BJP candidate and rebel MLA, who was present said that HD Kumaraswamy released no funds for the development of the constituency. “It was due to the step-motherly treatment that I and many like me decided to quit the coalition. We had discussed our predicaments to Siddaramaiah as well, but it was of no use,” he said.
