Belgaum (DHNS): The bandh call given by various organisations to protest objectionable postings on Chatrapati Shivaji and Shiv Sena leader, the late Bal Thackerey, on the social media networks during the weekend, received a mixed response in the city on Monday.

The BJP, Shiv Sena, Sri Rama Sene and other Hindu organisations had given the bandh call demanding stringent punishment for the accused.

The protesters threw stones at shops, canteens and other public places at Patil Galli, Sadashiv Nagar, Nehru Nagar and Azam Nagar.

A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus was pelted with stones on the Pune-Bangalore national highway near Halga village on the city outskirts, injuring a passenger.
