Ghataprabha: Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarakiholi was has been unhappy about the coalition partnership of JD(S) and the Congress and was hence not taking part in campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections is all set to make a huge political decision.
Minister Satish Jarakiholi has hinted that Ramesh Jarakiholi may join the BJP soon and it was too late to change his brother’s mind. Even if he resigns from the Congress and contests election as a BJP candidate, Lakhan Jarakiholi would be contesting from the Congress against him, confirmed the minister.
Ramesh Jarakiholi was talking to media persons when he was campaigning for Dr Sadhu, Congress candidate for Lok Sabha elections in Ghataprabha taluk of Belagavi district.
He said that Ramesh Jarakiholi’s actions were noted by the high command.
Satish Jarakiholi told media persons that he did not know the reason for his brother’s dislike towards Congress.
“The Jarakiholi followers may have confusions due to the split among the brothers. In future there can be election contest between Jarakiholi brothers in Gokak assembly constituency,” he said.
Few senior workers of the Congress party had requested Satish Jarakiholi to convince his brother to remain with the Congress. Now the party workers themselves should talk to Ramesh to convince him, said Satish Jarakiholi.
He said that the Lok Sabha election was the semi-finals and there would be finals soon. If they get six months’ time they would change the entire picture of the constituency.
