Belagavi: Alleging that some so called secularists have been making politics over carcasses of cattle, Minister Maneka Gandhi opined that there was need to make illegal slaughter houses an issue during this elections.
Speaking to BJP workers of Mahanagar block at Kannada Sahitya Bhavan, Gandhi said that such people have distorted the very meaning of secularism.
She spoke about the same after inspecting cold storage and slaughter houses being run in the region illegally.
“The fight has just begun. The party workers must keep the fight on till these illegal centres are closed. The Police officials have not taken action before this as they are corrupt, I will give report of it to the central and to the state government,” she said adding that thousands of lakes have been de-notified and the land was grabbed for building construction in Bengaluru during the Congress government in Karnataka. An expert team has predicted that if the same situation continued, Bengaluru will get drinking water in ration in next two years.
