Belagavi: Close on the heels of Election Commission seizing 800 cookers with photo of Congress leader Lakshmi Hebbalkar, a cache of 2000 sarees were seized on Sunday.
Acting on a tip off that sarees have been stored at a house in Hulkund village in Ramdurg taluk to distribute to voters on behalf of JDS candidate M Javed, Sector Officer Rajesab Barigidad raided the house owned by Pradeed Tapasi in Hulkund village on weekends hours of Sunday and recovered 15 baggages containing 2000 Sarees.
Officer has booked case against JDS ticket aspirant M Javed of Ramdurg, Pradeep Maruti Tapasi and Ramesh Bandiwaddar, residents of Hulkund village at Katkol Police station and started further investigation.
