Belagavi: Five persons, of whom four belonged to same family were killed on the spot and 10 others were injured after a head on collision between a KSRTC bud and cruiser near a canal at Adahalli village in Athani taluk in Belagavi district on Saturday late evening.
The deceased have been identified as Radhabai (50), Archana (40) Annappa (42), Ravi (12) all belonging to Jadhav family and residents of Kakamari village in Athani taluk. Gaurav Gopal Pol (40) also from the same village who was on the wheels was killed on the spot. Ten persons who suffered injuries have been rushed to Athani taluk hospital.
The deceased and injured, total 15 people were travelling in the cruiser and were on their way to attend a last rites towards Athani. Aigali police have registered a case.
