Belagavi: The Khanapur police arrested a youth for uploading a rape video on social media to blackmail his ex-girlfriend.
Ajith Desai (25), a resident of Ramanangar of the taluk is the arrested youth.
According to sources, Desai had a relationship with a girl. “He had recorded their intimate moments on his mobile. When the girl got married to someone else recently, Desai started demanding her to continue their relationship. When she refused, he allegedly uploaded the video on social media,” said police.
Desai has been charged with rape and other sections under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He has now been sent for to judicial custody.
