Belagavi: It was indeed an emotional moment for Belgavi nurse Sugandha Korapur, as she hugged her daughter for the first time in last 21 days.

The scenes of Sugandha standing at the entrance of the district hospital in tears, while her three-year-old daughter Aishwarya was crying inconsolable to go to her mom had gone viral.

Soon after the episode went viral on social networking sites, CM Yediyurappa had called up Sugandha personally and lauded her and all like her, who are placing their duty before their family and are toiling day in and day out for the sake of the country in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic.

On Saturday, Sugandha returned home and as she hugged her daughter, both could hardly fight back tears.

Sugnadha will have to return to work on April 21. However, if posted in any other ward, Sugandha is free to return home, but if she is posted in the COVID ward, she will continue to stay away from her little daughter.

“I may get posted into COVID-19 ward. After one experience I am mentally better prepared now. I will serve my duty with all sincerity,” said Sugandha.
