Belagavi: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers H N Ananth Kumar said on Tuesday that the union government recognises Belagavi, Khanapur, Nippani and Karwar as integral parts of Karnataka and that there was no need for any confusion.
The Minister further said that he would speak to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging him not to disturb the peaceful environment in the State by raking up the boundary row or create confusion on the issue as it had been resolved already, as per the report of the Mahajan Commission, which had acknowledged that Belagavi Khanapur, Nippani and Karwar were parts of Karnataka state..
Kumar was speaking at the Vijay Sankalp Samavesh organised by the BJP.
The union government had appointed the Mahajan Commission after both the states had promised to abide by its report, he said.
