Belagavi becomes home to tallest flag post in India

Belagavi: Leaving behind Attari along Indo-Pak border that has 360 ft tall flag stamp, Belagavi, on March 12 became the place to have tallest flag stamp in the country.

Tallest flag stamp, all of 361 feet was inaugurated in a grand ceremony on Monday morning at Fort Lake, Belagavi.

District In-charge Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi inaugurated this flagpost by hoisting Indian flag of 9600 sq ft size on it. Termed to be dream project of MLA(North) Feroz Sait, the project cost approx. Rs 1.5 crore.

MLA Feroz Saith, DC S Ziaullah, Zilla Panchayat CEO R Ramchandran, Corporation Commissioner Shashidhar Kurer, BUDA Commissioner Shakeel Ahamad were present.

Thousands of people including priests of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and Jain Community were present to witness this historic event.
