The leaders reportedly made a provocative speech at a Dharma Sabha at Londa near Belagavi which was objected by a group of people. The angry group threw stones which triggered a fierce clash.

People of two different communities indulged in pelting stones and damaged many vehicles in the area.

Police who rushed to the spot detained as many as 42 people, most of them belonging to Sri Rame Sene and other pro-hindu organisations and were produced in a local court. Those arrested included Sri Ram Sena’s Pandit Ogale, Maruti Sutar and Ramakant Konduskar, and BJP leader Baburao Desai.
