Belagavi: Dr. Siddharam Swamiji of Nagnuru Rudrakhsi Math has appealed to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to address the problems faced by the people of North Karnataka before they rise to demand a separate statehood for the region.
The seer expressed his disappointment at the “step-motherly treatment” by successive governments towards the North Karnataka region. People are busy discussing the issue of presenting the budget, however, there is an urgent need to focus attention on the agricultural and educational problems of North Karnataka, he said. “Several projects started here remain incomplete and are rotting in the closed files”, he lamented.
The pontiff also requested the chief minister not to lose “the golden opportunity” to find solutions to the problems of the region. He also urged the government to announce a special package for North Karnataka in the upcoming budget.
