Belagavi: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held a protest to condemn the hardships faced by the students at the Rani Channamma University (RCU) on June 28.
The student activists alleged that there were confusions regarding administrative and valuation work done by the university. Moreover, the results of the examinations held were delayed, they flayed and added that this had affected the future career prospects of the students.
The ABVP activists alleged that close to 50 percent of the questions asked in the MBA first and third-semester examinations, held in February-March this year, were not from the syllabus prescribed for the course. The results were also not published for 4 to 5 months and the university also held re-examinations for many papers, they said.
“In the milieu of confusions, several talented students from rural areas and poor families are facing an uncertain future. Problems of the students who have taken educational loans have multiplied many folds due to the callous attitude of the university officials,” the students alleged.
Holding the RCU administration responsible for their troubles, ABVP activists demanded that the problems be sorted out within two days’ time. If not, they said, a massive protest would be organised.
