Belagavi: In all 144 cases of Covid-19 has been reported on a single day at Abnali village here at Khanapur taluk and following which Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Harish Kumar has directed officials to sanitise the village.

People who participated in village deity’s fair held on April 5 and April 6 have tested Covid-19 positive. This came to light when the participants complained of vomiting and diarrhoea and underwent treatment at the primary health centre at Ashok Nagar. However, they had not revealed the fact that they had come from Maharashtra.

Swab samples of the participants collected during the treatment that were tested turned out to be all positive. Now the village has been declared a containment zone.
