3106 IAF trainees complete basic training at Airmen Training School

Belagavi: The colourful passing out parade at the Airmen Training School Sanbra, Belagavi on June 15, marked the successful completion of basic training for the trainee airmen of the Indian Air Force (IAF). As many as 3106 trainee airmen will move out to various Trade Training Establishments of Air Force for further training.

Air Vice Marshal S P Dharkar AVSM, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Training) was the chief guest for the event. He was received by Air Commodore Arun Bhaskar Gupta, Air Officer Commanding, Airmen Training School and Belagavi. The chief guest reviewed the parade and presented trophies to the meritorious trainee airmen.

Among the prize winners from the newly passed out trainees was AC(U/T) Khade Vivek Rajendra who was the best in General Service Training, AC(U/T) Md. Aijaj Khan was best in Academics, AC(U/T) Mohit Kumar Sain was Best Marksman and AC(U/T) Rohit Sharma was adjudged as the Best All Rounder Trainee.

Addressing the parade, Air Vice Marshal Dharkar stressed the importance of learning. He said that learning was a continuous process and one should keep abreast with the ever-changing technological environment. He also stressed the need to develop professional skills constantly adding to one’s knowledge during different stages of training. Ample opportunities are available in Air Force to improve one’s individual profile and growth in service depending on merit, self-resolve and commitment, he said.

Calling on the trainees to take pride in being an “Air Warrior”, the chief guest advised the trainees to channelise their energy in the right direction and to remain disciplined. He reiterated that they must always strive to attain greater heights by making optimum use of opportunities open to them.

He exhorted trainees to ensure optimal contribution in every assigned task and urged them to contribute towards the overall battle preparedness of the IAF. He reminded the trainees to keep service ethos above all other things and maintain the great tradition of Indian Air Force to render selfless service in defence of the nation.

The highlights of the passing out parade was the impeccable turnout and outstanding drill movements of the passing out trainees. All spectators including various dignitaries and parents of passing out trainees were spellbound by their splendid performance.
