Bengaluru: The city police arrested a youth after firing at his leg, on Thursday morning after the latter assaulted the cops at Sanjaynagar.
The injured youth has been identified as Taujuddin, a resident of Sanjaynagar.
The accused had allegedly attacked police on Wednesday afternoon when he was asked by the police to follow the lockdown rules.
Raged by this, Taujuddin had hurled stones at the cops, following which he was arrested on Wednesday.
However, he tried to escape when the police brought him to the spot for investigation on Thursday morning.
Left with no other option when he launched yet another attack on cops in a bid to escape, the police shot at his leg.
“Two constables, including a woman constable sustained injuries in his attack. In self-defense the police fired at his thigh,” informed police sources.
