Young duo pastry chefs present 16 kg cake representing fervor of independence

Bengaluru: People in the country celebrate Independence Day in different ways. When some celebrate it with the soldiers at the borders, some spread the fervor by flaunting the flag. But, here are two young chefs who are ready to welcome the day and celebrate it with a unique cake by paying tributes to our brave soldiers.

Pastry chefs, Akshay and Rohit from Whitecaps International School of Pastry have created a 16 kg cake with three soldiers, with one holding the tricolour. “Happy Independence Day.” is written on the cake, which is created with edible food colours. It took 35 hours of craftsmanship for the duo. 

This creation is supported by a skeletal structure made from a threaded rod, covered with food graded aluminium foil.

Chef Aravind Prasad, Co-Founder and Executive Pastry Chef said, “I was enthused by the energy of these young chefs and guided them throughout to express their patriotic fervor in a totally standout manner. Such occasions recharge your creative skills and I am glad I am part of it.”

Squadron leader S H Bhaskar has opined, “Delighted to see youngsters do this while I am also promoting ‘GharGhar me ek tiranga’ and ‘Tiranga Ka Bharat’
