Karwar: The Karnataka state politics has become a topic of discussion at the national-level following the resignation of scores of MLA from the Congress-JDS coalition. One among them is Yellapura MLA Shivaram Hebbar. While no other MLA who is taking the state politics by storm has tried to tender an explanation to his voters, Hebbar, on Monday took to Facebook and tendered an apology to his voters and people of his constituency.
The post, which addresses the party workers, states that he is seeking apologies from his people for the sudden political turmoil that has left the state in the doldrums. "I need to speak to you about the helplessness and inevitable situations that had cropped up, which led me to make this very tough decision. You all have voted me to power for two terms keeping in mind various developmental works that I have done in the constituency, but over the last 15 months of the coalition government, I have not been able to get any developmental projects or funds to the constituency, despite all my sincere efforts. While the government remained biased, not even a single senior leader had the basic courtesy of responding to the issues that were being raised. Even the district in-charge minister did not have the courtesy to respect me and hear me out," he said.
Calling his constituency as one of the biggest constituencies in the Malnad assembly segments, he said that the constituency had many legitimate demands, but he was not in a position to show his face to the voters because no funds were flowing to the district due to the in-fight and confusion between the coalition partners.
He ended the lengthy post saying that due to the commotion in the state government, he will be remaining out of the constituency for about ten days and he is sorry for the same.
