Bengaluru: A woman officer of Karnataka State Legislature Secretariat has filed a complaint with the Expert Committee on Prevention of Sexual Violence against Women and Children, seeking action against her senior, a Vidhana Soudha Secretary, accusing him of sexual harassment.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that S. Murthy had called her to the chamber saying he wanted to discuss some work details, but instead passed lewd comments. “He also invited me to go to Goa with him and discussed my personal life,” she alleged in her complaint on Saturday.

The victim had brought the matter to the attention of higher-ups in Vidhana Soudha, but when no action was taken, she approached the committee.

Murthy has denied the allegations saying that it was conspiracy to defame him and remove him from his post.

V.S. Ugrappa, Chairman of the Committee, said, “We have asked her to furnish the details so that we can probe the matter.”
