Will never contest election again, says Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who had created ripples in the state politics recently, by stating that he wanted to become Chief Minister of the state for one more time, has now taken a U-turn.

In a major volte-face, the former CM has said that he will never contest the polls again.

Speaking to the reporters, he said that April-May 2018 election was his last election. “I have made it clear that I will not contest again, but I will continue to be an active member of the Congress party”

Responding to Siddaramaiah’s wish to become the chief minister again CM HD Kumaraswamy’s said that, Congress party seniors like RV Deshpande are eligible for the CM’s post, this has now led to a lot of speculations. In Kollegal, primary and secondary education minister N Mahesh said that Siddaramaiah must test his luck in 2023 assembly election.

Congress leader Ibrahim stated that there will be massive political changes post-Ganesha Chathurthi.
