Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on Wednesday, April 8, chaired a meeting with the coronavirus task force comprising state minister and health experts, to get appraised about the situation. During the meeting, a report on COVID-19 and the lockdown situation was submitted to the CM.
BSY informed that the report would be presented before the state Cabinet tomorrow. While he said that there is no possibility of the lockdown being lifted on April 15, the CM stated that the government will wait for the Centre’s decision on the lockdown.
Last month, the state formed a high level task force to review the situation on a daily basis. It is led by state Health Minister B Sreeramulu with Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, and Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar.
The task force was formed to meet daily to review the situation and decide on immediate and long-term measures to be taken to stop the spread of the disease and also issue health bulletins in the morning and evening every day.
