Bengaluru: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Wednesday, January 22, questioned the BJP’s silence over the developments in the Mangaluru airport bomb scare.

It can be recalled that on Wednesday, an MBA graduate named Aditya Rao surrendered to the police in Bengaluru and confessed that it was he who planted the bomb at the Mangaluru International Airport on Monday. He is currently in the custody of the Mangaluru Police and will be brought to the city from Bengaluru to be produced before the JMFC court on Thursday.

Commenting on the recent revelations, the JD(S) leader claimed that if the suspect was a Muslim, the BJP would have made it a big issue. “If it was a Muslim who placed the bomb, the BJP could have turned it into a major issue. Since Aditya Rao confessed to placing the bomb at MIA, all the BJP leaders are silent.”

He further said, “They (BJP) need to understand the reason behind the youth turning into militants.”
