Ramanagar: Many Vokkaliga community leaders from the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) parties joined the protest against the arrest of former minister D K Shivakumar in Bengaluru city as a show of solidarity with the leader. However, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy were missing from the list of prominent Vokkaliga leaders at the protest, making way for a lot of suspicion.
Defending his decision to not participate in the protest, the former CM told media personnel here on Wednesday, September 11, “If I was invited for the protest condemning DKShi’s arrest well in advance, I would have participated. The organizers decided to stage the protest in a hurry and had not informed me.”
He then added, “I had already informed the JD(S) party workers to participate in the protest.”
Meanwhile, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party trying to fix him in several illegal cases, HDK said, “It is impossible for the BJP to fix me in any case as I have not committed any mistake and have also seen to it that I never got the chance to commit one.”
