Bengaluru: The Visvesvaraya Technological University registrar Jagannatha Reddy has been suspended over a Rs.200 crores scam.
According to the sources, VTU VC Karisiddappa issued suspension orders to Jagannatha Reddy.
Two parents of the VTU students had approached Governor Vajubhai Vala, seeking an investigation into Rs.200 crores construction scam in the university.
Based on the complaint, the Governor had ordered for a judicial inquiry. Retired district court judge DS Shinde had carried out the investigation.
Now, VC Karisiddappa has suspended him from the post.
If sources in the VTU are to be believed, then Reddy has been suspended to ensure that he will not become new VC of the university as he was in the race for the same.
