Bengaluru: After a verbal attack on Congress leaders, including former CM Siddaramaiah, now JDS state unit president H Vishwanath has attacked a leader from his own party, tourism minister S R Mahesh for his defeat in the K R Nagar Town Municipal Council election.
In a closely fought election for the K R Nagar Town Municipal Council, the Congress defeated the JDS. K R Nagar is the home turf of Mahesh.
Speaking to reporters, Vishwanath stated that a few leaders assumed that they can win with caste and cash. “This is not true,” he said.
“In K R Nagar, S R Mahesh didn’t consider everyone. He neglected a particular caste and this resulted in the party’s defeat.
“I advised him to give tickets to a few persons but Mahesh didn’t oblige. Now, the party has lost and Mahesh should learn a lesson from this,” he added.
“He does not respect me and this is creating a lot of trouble for the party,” he lamented.
