Bengaluru: Proving the entertainment and cinema industry veterans' point that the industry is not as colorful as it seems, veteran theatre artist and actor Jayakumar has fallen on hard times. He is now facing an acute economic crisis as he is seriously ill.
Jayakumar is admitted in Manipal Hospital and is suffering from kidney-related ailments and urinary tract infection. He is currently in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
It can be recalled that Jayakumar had suffered mild heart attacks twice before, when he was in his hometown Davangere. He was rushed to the hospital in his hometown after the first attack, shortly after which he suffered the second attack. This is when he doctors informed the family that both his kidneys were affected.
He was later moved to the Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment and has been there for the past 15 days in the ICU.
Fortunately, the doctors have confirmed that he will be fine in a few days, as he has undergone a heart surgery and a stent has been placed.
While his health seems to be getting better, the issue of money still persists.
His health card has been utilized to the maximum limit and his treatments at the Manipal Hospital has to be paid in cash only.
As they are facing a shortage of money, Jayakumar's wife has requested people to come forward and donate money, so that they can pay the hospital bills.

Jayakumar has been a theatre artiste for over five decades under different drama companies and has acted in around 150 films.
He has also acted alongside Sandalwood starwalts like Dr Rajkumar, Dr Vishnuvardhan, “Challenging Star” Darshan and many others.
