Karwar: Uttara Kannada district has decided to quarantine people who come into the district from other districts and states for a period of 14 days.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar informed that several measures have been taken by the district administration to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and keeping in mind the large number of people who have come to the district from other states and district, even they will be kept under home quarantine.
“It is inevitable to keep then home quarantined if we want to curb the number of COVID-19 cases,” said the DC.
He said that any individual who has returned to the district from other states or districts too must get himself tested and must remained quarantined at home for 14 days.
If an individual does not agree for home quarantine, then steps will be taken to keep the said individual under quarantine in facilities provided by the government, the DC said.
The disrict has registered nine COVID-19 positive cases so far.
