Bengaluru: Now, passengers who book tickets using Un-reserved Ticket booking system (UTS) App would get 5 percent bonus on every recharge.
The South West Railway has increased the rechargeable amount as well through the App. Earlier, one could recharge Rs 5,000 in their railway wallet through the App but the amount has been increased to Rs 10,000 now.
Using the UTS App, one passenger may book a maximum of four tickets at once at all railway stations in 5 km radius. The App can be used to purchase seasonal tickets and for their renovation. This app is also helpful to purchase platform tickets and for the cancellation of tickets. A certain amount is filled in the railway wallet, which can be used for purchasing tickets.
“This App is quite popular among passengers. Around 52,100 registered passengers have used the App till date after the release. In the city, everyday more than 200 new passengers are using the App. It is very helpful for the suburban railway passengers. They need not stand in queues for the ticket. They can book the ticket even after getting into the train”, said an official.
In South-West Railway, passengers need not have a printed receipt of the ticket. During the checking, it is enough if they show the ticket in digital form.
