Bengaluru: Vijay Bhaskar T M, Chief Secretary to Government, has said that the loans taken by farmers from cooperative banks could be waived by July, this year.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with the representatives of private banks, Vijay Bhaskar said that if more than 90 percent of the loans of eligible farmers are waived off by the end of June, then the same could be done with credits from cooperative banks by July.
“About 25 percent of the loan on unproductive assets will be payed by the bank and the government will clear the remaining loan amount taken on its own,” said Vijay Bhaskar.
