Bengaluru: The UAE-based Al Madina Group began operations in India by launching its first hypermarket in Bengaluru city on Saturday, October 5.
Located near Gear School Road in the technology suburb of Doddakannelli, the newly opened Mango Hypermarket spans over a total area of 45,000 sq ft in two floors and has parking space for 150 cars.
Here, customers will find a wide variety of electronics, home appliances, household goods, stationery, toys, garments, sports goods, health and beauty products, fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from local farmers, fresh meats and fish and groceries. The hypermarket will also feature a live bakery section to serve bread, cakes and pastries.
Al Madina has also partnered with Pantaloons to offer trendy garments, footwear and accessories for men, women and children.
At the hypermarket, customers can also find nuts, chocolates and dates procured from local and other countries including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iran, Oman, Turkey and Europe.
Speaking to BusinessLine, Muhammedali, Operations Head for the Dubai headquartered Al Madina Group said, “We plan to invest Rs 100 crores in India in the next two years. Besides this hypermarket, we plan to open three more in Bengaluru in the next two years which will generate employment opportunities for 3,000 people.”
He added that they are still in “talks with various parties” about the locations for their other branches. They locations will be revealed once they make a deal with the aforementioned parties.
