Bengaluru: In a new twist to the IMA Jewellery scam, the state government has decided to hand over the case to Special Investigation Team (SIT). Earlier today, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had stated that the case would be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

However, a delegation of political leaders including minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, legislator N A Haris, MLCs Rizwan Arshad, Naseer Ahmed and Abdul Jabbar met Kumaraswamy and asked him to hand over the case to SIT.

HDK has informed that the case has now been handed over to SIT and the same has been brought to the notice of the Director General of Police.

Meanwhile, there are rumours circulating that IMA MD Mohammed Mansoor Khan might have absconded to Dubai. Sources say that some of the investors opine that he could have absconded to Dubai, last month.

Anxious investors are storming in thousands of numbers at the Shadi Mahal in Shivajinagar, to file their complaints against the company, resulting in traffic jam in the area. Earlier, the complaint counter was set up in a church in Shivaji Nagar and later shifted to Shadi Mahal.

The affected, after filing their complaints, headed to IMA Jewellery shop and started protesting, resulting in verbal clash between the protesters and the police. Police personnel have been deployed as a precautionary measure to ensure law and order.
