Bengaluru: The bodies of three foetuses were found in a rajakaluve (stormwater drain) near S J Park road of the city. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
According to the police, the locals raised an alarm with the police control room 100 after spotting a blood-soaked cloth. When a Hoysala team rushed to the spot, they found three foetuses wrapped inside the cloth.
“Immediately, they sent the bodies to the Victoria hospital for investigation. According to the preliminary findings, these foetuses are premature babies. A local gynaecologist informed that a daily wage labourer may have thrown them into the drainage after delivery. Now, the effort is on to trace this daily wage labourer,” informed the police.
“Our suspicion is that she must have delivered before the due date and that foetuses must have died at the time of birth,” the police added.
